Once you’ve enabled POP in Gmail, you can configure your mail client or wireless device to download Gmail messages. We know you have been using Gmail for a long time, but you may have not enabled your Gmail POP3 settings. If you want to enable this setting, you can do it in few simple steps. Open Gmail homepage and log in using your Gmail account. Then go to the settings tab in the top right side corner of the screen in order to open Gmail configuration. After opening the configuration tab, select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP link like shown in the picture.
Here you can have two options to enable POP3, first one enables POP3 in Gmail for all email messages that have already been retrieved and the second used for enabling POP3 will never let you to retrieve old emails as soon as you enable the setting.
